Swim Lessons
At the Y, our swim lessons build skills, confidence, and character. Our new curriculum focuses on developing sequence based skill sets that organically build on one another. Students will learn faster, be safe sooner, and progress more quickly through the various levels. This exciting new curriculum also helps each participant experience a sense of accomplishment after each lesson and build relationships with other swimmers. Preschool/School Age Stage 1
Stage 1 Pre-School & School Ages: for children who will not put their entire face in the water or go under water voluntarily yet.
Students develop comfort with underwater exploration and learn to safely enter and exit the pool.

Preschool/School Age Stage 2
Stage 2 Pre-School & School Ages: for children who will put their entire face in the water or go under water voluntarily BUT can not do a front or back float on the own.
Students focus on body position & control, directional change, and forward movement in the water while also continuing to practice how to safely enter and exit the pool.

Preschool/School Age Stage 3
Pre-school & School Ages: for children who are comfortable going under water, can front/back float BUT cannot swim on their own.
Students learn how to swim to safety from longer distances than previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water.
This stage introduces rhythmic breathing and integrated arm & leg action.

Swim Starters Stage A/B
Parents accompany infants and toddlers in the water in these Stages. Parents work with their children to explore body positions, floating, blowing bubbles, and fundamental safety through fun and confidence-building experiences. For children ages 6 months – 3 years. Parents must accompany child in the water.
