S.E.A.S. stands for Swimming for Everyone After School and is a program that is a partnership with the Muscatine School District, the Muscatine Community Y, and the University of Iowa Department of Public Health. This program is designed to teach students a life skill, safety in the water and encourage students to use swimming as a form of exercise and recreation.
S.E.A.S. is free and open to third grade students in the Muscatine Community School District and do not need to be members of the Y to participate. S.E.A.S. will be offered 4 times in 2010-2011. Lessons are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-5 pm at the Y.
Parents of third grade students should keep watch for registration forms that will be distributed at school. For more information on S.E.A.S., please contact Jocelyn Paxton at 563-263-9996 or
