There are many ways you can get involved at the Muscatine Community Y. Whether it’s working as an employee or volunteering your time and efforts, we welcome you to join us in our efforts of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities!
Volunteers
The Muscatine Community Y is a volunteer-based and volunteer-led organization. Our volunteers are the heart of our programs and without them, many events would cease to exist!
Volunteers are needed for several special events at the Y including the Try Melon Tri indoor triathlon held each February, Bowl For Kids' Sake held each March, Healthy Kids' Day held each April, and Breakfast with Santa held in early December. Each of these events require many volunteers to make them a success!
We also need volunteers who are willing to commit their time and lend their skills in leading our programs. Each program at the Y is guided for a volunteer Advisory Committee. The Y itself is then led by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Community Partners Campaign
Another way you can support our organization is by helping us through donations. The Muscatine Community Y is committed to serving all children and families through our programs and services. No child or family is turned away because of their inability to pay.
Funds to assist families and children with scholarships and subsidized program fees are generate through our annual Community Partners Campaign. This campaign generally runs each year from January through March, although many generous individuals and businesses in our community contribute throughout the year. Each year the number of children and families who appeal to us for reduced-rate memberships continues to grow. With your help we can continue to meet these needs and make our facility and many programs available to everyone.
