Our goal is to provide developmental recreational programs for boys and girls. We don’t focus on competition as much as we do skills and socialization. All of our Youth Sports programs incorporate Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Our Youth Sports programs wouldn’t be possible without the many volunteer coaches and referees who give so willingly of their time. The Muscatine Community Y Youth Sports program includes Youth Basketball, for girls and boys in grades 2 through 8; and Youth Soccer, which includes girls and boys in grades K through 8. Following are details of each of these programs. |

SPRING & FALL SOCCER
The Muscatine Community Y youth soccer program is a developmental, recreational program for boys and girls in grades K-8. The emphasis is on good sportsmanship and fair play; development of soccer skills; socialization among teammates and other teams; enjoyment of the sport of soccer; and low competition and high participation.

REGISTRATION:
The deadline to sign up for soccer is
2 p.m., Saturday, July 19, 2008. After this date, names will be placed on a waiting list with no guarantee of team placement. If placed on a team, late registration fees will be charged.
GAME LOCATION: Games will be played at the Muscatine Soccer Complex on Saturdays and during the week depending on Soccer Complex availability.

Practices: August 25-October 12
Games: September 6-October 11
Fee: Member: $19.00
Nonmember: $38:00
KINDERGARTENER
Co-Ed teams learn basic skills
1ST GRADE
Co-Ed teams learn basic soccer skills.
2ND & 3RD GRADES
Emphasis is on improvement of individual soccer skills.
4TH & 5TH GRADES
Additional soccer skills training with more emphasis on team positions and team play.
6TH, 7TH & 8TH GRADES
Continues work on advanced individual skills with more emphasis on team tactics and strategies. Co-Ed league.

YOUTH BASKETBALL
Muscatine Community Y Youth Basketball is a developmental, recreational programs for boys and girls in grades 2nd-8th. The programs objectives are: development of basketball skills, learning sportsmanship and fair play, socialization among teammates and other teams, and enjoying the sport of basketball.
Boys Season:
Practices: October 13 - December 5
Games: October 25 - December 6
Boys Registration:
Boys may register any time between NOW and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13th. Late registrants will be put on a waiting list and charged a $5.00 late fee.
Girls Season:
Practices: January 5 - February 20
Games: January 17 - February 21
Girls Registration:
Girls may register any time between NOW and 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6th. Late registrants will be put on a waiting list and charged a $5.00 late fee.
Fee: (includes $7.00 for a team t-shirt)
Member: $26.00
