Welcome to Get Involved! This section of our website contains information regarding Employment Opportunities, Volunteer Opportunities, information on how to contribute to the Muscatine Community Y, and a listing of the Muscatine Community Y Board of Directors.
The Muscatine Community Y is a membership organization that is open to the public. We serve people of all ages, incomes and abilities through a wide variety of programs and services that are designed to meet our changing community needs. We invite you to “Get Involved”! Whether you would like to pursue a job with our organization, volunteer your time and energies, or contribute financially to help us meet our goal of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities, we’d love to have your support! Susan has been doing "Y" work for 25 years now, beginning her career with the Cedar Rapids YWCA. With a BA degree from the University of Maine at Orono, she became interested in human services and their delivery. At the Cedar Rapids YWCA, she was part of a team that implemented the first battered women's shelter in Iowa. She moved to Muscatine to become the YWCA Executive Director and was responsible for establishing a Fitness Center and the Mom's program in the first years of service. Susan was appointed Executive Director of the Muscatine Community Y in 1997 when the YWCA and Family YMCA merged. "The Y offers each member the opportunity to serve along with opportunities to enhance each member's day-to-day life. I enjoy and am challenged daily by this unique mix. And, throughout my career I have found that the finest people are drawn to Y work, be they volunteers or paid staff. It has been a privilege to know them and work to promote the values of the Y."

Sarolta has been with the Muscatine Community Y since 1999. She has a BA degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in Business with an emphasis in Marketing. Her background includes marketing & advertising and human resources. Sarolta advertises and promotes the many programs and services offered at the Y. She is responsible for the annual Community Partners Campaign and membership development. Sarolta is married to Joel and they have three children; Alexis, 15 years; Veronika, 9 years; and Drew, 5 years.
